WHAT ARE THE MANGO MODULES?
The Mango Modules® is a brain body movement conditioning program for those choosing to enjoy whole brain body fitness for daily living & targeted activities. Foundational focus is on conscious Breathing, Relaxing, Feeling, Watching and Allowing* the body to notice what is helpful & natural for it to be and do, at its own pace. *(BRFWA, Kripalu Yoga practice elements)
WHO CREATED THE MANGO MODULES®? Emily Eisen, a certified teacher of Brain Gym®, Kripalu Yoga/Breathwork, Total Immersion Swimming®, ChiWalking® & The Language of Mastery®.
I designed The Mango Modules® for my personal quality of life initially for myself. After practicing & evolving my practice, I am called to teach others for their personal quality of life.
As a swimmer, I realized I was gearing my practice based upon the physical elements of the swim form, the whole stroke. The Mango Modules® are movements as well for other activities (runners, walkers, dancers, martial arts).
We are fortunate to have our well-designed human bodies. We are the manager, the generator, the regulator, and the kind owner to derive the gifts of life’s infinite movements. We get to be exactly where we are in celebration & honor our current capabilities to encourage our infinite potential.
WHO ARE THE MANGO MODULES DESIGNED FOR? It is for those currently engaged in some form of regular fitness activity. For those just beginning to incorporate a regular fitness program, I recommend starting with a beginner’s fitness program.

1-Spinal 7: neutral spine, arching and rounding, side bends, twists
2-Cross lateral coordination: Both sides of brain and body coordinate
3-Side, front, back body lengthening, strengthening, and softening
4-Deliberate, Conscious deep breathing
5-Deep relaxation: Release of holding, gripping and grasping
6-Core activation: Engaging core muscles with movement and breath (strong core=strong back)

15-Joint flexibility and lubrication/synovial fluid: There is no synovial fluid pump, like the heart and lymph system. The pump is activated by movement, so movement is necessary to pump the synovial fluid for movement of the joints.
16-Brain activation, collaboration, integration, restoration, relaxation: Conscious coordinated movement gets the brain to pay attention. By learning and repetition, the brain creates new neuropathways of skills and knowledge. This is done in steps building into a sequence….first the details, going from unlearned, to learning, to learned: from the left hemisphere (detail/sequence) to right hemisphere (big picture, the whole, automatic flow).
17-Stress assess and address: Neutral noticing of stress and choosing how to dress it: Pause, Breathing, Posture…Cultivating Witness Conscioiusness, the curios, interested observer.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN: SELF -CARE RULES!
THERE IS NOWHERE TO GET TO! Relax in THIS moment, THIS breath, THIS day. Each body is different. Each side of the body is different. Each day the body is different! Each day the weather is different! Each movement needs to be slow and gradual with great awareness to remain responsive to the body’s specific current needs for:
-Noticing pain or strain
-Current or recent injury hot spots
-Noticing your current edge,
-Staying at that edge
-Extending 1-2% beyond that edge -pulling back from that edge - -Or toggling and exploring the edge. >>>>>>I am your teacher…YOUR BODY IS YOUR LEADER.
THREE IMPORTANT TOOLS FOR THE LEARNER:
1- NOTICING
as a neutral, non-judgmental observer for the purpose of being curious to explore your current sensations and explore possibilities.
2- LISTENING to the body’s sense abilities and sensitivities. Responding intelligently and appropriately with care and compassion. When in doubt, do less or nothing and just breath.
3- ADAPTING what you see to what works for your body. Releasing, or simply watching and breathing.
WHAT ARE THE THREE “M’s” WE CAN MANAGE? MUSCULAR, METABOLIC, AND MENTAL.
MUSCLES to move. METABOLIC for energy usage. MENTAL for focus.
The muscles will tire----- the energy will tire.
It is the MENTAL aspect of bringing our attention to efficient movement and usage of energy that results in endurance, efficiency, ease and enjoyment.
HOW DO WE SKILL BUILD?
WE MOVE SLOWLY … JUST TO THE BEGINNING OF SENSATION.
We skill build by focusing on one detail/ focal point at a time slowly, repetitively... evolving into rhythmic flow of the integrated parts.
We toggle between focus detail awareness and rhythmic integration of the details till the new skill becomes automatic, open to refinements.
